What are SOP's? Simply stated, SOP's are internally approved procedures...the step by step directions to ensure that essential job tasks are performed correctly and consistently each time (quality control).
With respect to health and safety, each main activity that has been rated as a major loss potential requires a step by step description that must include key health and safety points (controls) to remember following each step, and information and instruction to all workers performing the main activities rated as a major loss potential of the safe operating procedures.
